Noise Reduction For Air Conditioner Compressors!

The Brinmar Sound Blanket provides a minimum 5 dB noise reduction. This represents a 40%+ reduction in noise levels - better results than any other blanket we tested at an independent laboratory. The inside of the Brinmar Sound Blanket is lined with a rubberlike substance also used as a sound blocker in the passenger compartment of vehicles. This rubber sheet traps the sound inside the blanket where a 1-inch layer of glass insulation absorbs the noise. The strands of the glass fiber actually 'wiggle' and helps dissipate the sound energy. Our two-part, patented design allows for varying heights and girths of compressors and the overlapping seams avoid gaps and this helps trap the sound inside the blanket. During installation the blanket naturally adapts to accommodate the various positions of the suction/discharge lines and control box. When installed, one line exits from the top corner seam of the blanket. The other line protrudes between the two blankets. Hook and loop straps make the blanket easy to fasten and install.
